What do we stand for, what is it we stand against, why do we stand at all? What do we believe, what is it we disbelieve, do we believe at all? The political class, no matter what the creed, separate and apart, with no meaning for you and me. The rebellion, defined as youth; is this the very reason that the old acquiesce? You’ve heard it, so many times; the rhetoric, spat out with vitriol. The answer; we have one choice, that is to reject it all.

Shift The Paradigm

Nothing is born of itself, circumstances lead to the end result, infinite factors contribute, to the overall design. Everything is cause and effect, so called public opinion doesn’t shift the paradigm. Nature versus nurture begets just desserts for the undeserving and once again, the poor get demonised.

Who bears the brunt of the difficult decision? The ‘we’ and ‘us’ have never been inclusive of you, so why should your statements mean anything to ‘me’?

The Fabled Middle Ground

Modern history lies polarised between left and right, with rigid belief systems; a fact we can’t deny. Awakened to the premise of some fabled middle ground, we skipped and danced, and slept towards it; and where are we left now? With nothing but doubt, an identity crisis, which the middle ground brought about. The political became the personal; the individual reigns supreme and an apathetic multitude fulfilled ‘their’ dreams. Yet, still the doubt, to swallow a notion that we’re all middle class now. Modern history lies polarised between left and right. Why fall between the two? When we should just step aside.

What does it take to hijack memory, what does it take to ensure despondency? Repetition, is where all of this leads, with it, we are comfortably deceived. Same stories, same rituals, same visuals, over and over again. What does it take to no longer pretend, it’s anything more than a means to an end? Same stories, same rituals, same visuals, over and over again. Images? The same. Ideas? The same. Footage? The same. Sales pitch? The same. They flash before the eyes; to hide.

Answers?

Is there a universal truth in the cultural divide, what is its worth if it’s built upon a lie? What value has the complexity in all human life? Every single issue is oversimplified, why define in absolutes, when wrong and right collide? Why scream we all have choices, yet ignore that some choices are denied? You know the answers, before you’ve heard the questions, and when given, they offer no direction.
